Rams Come Home 12th at LaTour Intercollegiate

UM Men's Golf Competes in Third Tournament of the Season

MATHEWS, La. - The University of Mobile Men's Golf team competed in the LaTour Intercollegiate in Mathews, La. on Oct. 21-22, with the team finishing in 12th place out of 12 total teams. Mobile struggled against tough competition, placing behind NCAA D-I teams like South Dakota (-14) and Southeastern Louisiana (-8). Despite their challenges, individual players showed resilience, with Cooper Douglass and Gonzalo Godoy being the team's top performers.

Mobile's overall team score sat at +55 across three rounds, with Cooper Douglass tallying a +9 to lead the Rams. After shooting one over in round one, Douglass put together back-to-back rounds where he shot four over, placing him tied for 44th overall out of 72 individual entrants. Gonzalo Godoy followed with a +10, with his best round coming in round one where he managed just two over par.

Final Fall Tournament Ahead

The Rams will conclude the fall portion of the 2024-25 schedule with the Firehawk Invitational next week in north Alabama. Next week's tourney is scheduled for Oct. 28-29 and will be held at the Canebrake Club in Athens, Ala.
