MACON, GA - The University of Mobile volleyball team showcased resilience and skill in their recent road games, emerging victorious in back-to-back matches against Brewton-Parker College and Middle Georgia State University. These wins bring Mobile's record to 21-4 overall and 9-1 in conference play.
October 25: Mobile vs. Brewton Parker College (3-1)
Mobile dropped the first set against Brewton Parker 20-25 but rebounded with a trio of powerful set wins (25-14, 25-11, 25-21) to take the match 3-1. Layton Adams led the charge, recording 12 kills with a .250 hitting percentage and contributing three block assists, totaling 13.5 points. Setter Tatum Beech orchestrated the offense, dishing out 26 assists and adding nine digs. The Rams' aggressive play included seven service aces, highlighted by Lexi Gillette's two aces and nine digs, while Aspen Adams and Emily Osborne bolstered the defense with 13 and seven digs, respectively.
October 26: Mobile vs. Middle Georgia State (3-0)
In their second match, the Rams dominated Middle Georgia State in a clean sweep (25-21, 25-19, 25-17). Corrina Porch-Maxey delivered 10 kills, leading the offense, while Emma Hampton and Dazsha Dean Middleton each contributed 7.5 points. Middle Georgia struggled against Mobile's .192 hitting percentage and strong defense, anchored by Aspen Adams with 15 digs. Setter Layton Adams distributed the ball effectively with 16 assists, guiding the Rams to victory. Middle Georgia State's Yanelis Rodriguez led her team with 11 kills, but it wasn't enough to overcome Mobile's relentless attack and solid blocking.
Rams Return Home to Conclude Regular Season with Final Matchups
Returning home with momentum from recent road victories, Mobile aims to carry their success into a series of home matches this week. The Rams will face the Bleu Devils of Dillard University on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m., followed by a conference showdown against the Crusaders of William Carey on Friday at 6:00 p.m. The week concludes with a Senior Day game against the Wolfpack of Loyola University (La.) on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
