University of Mobile Volleyball Wins 2024 SSAC Volleyball Championship

Rams Win Program's Third SSAC Title on Saturday

MULTIPLEX AT CRAMTON BOWL | MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The University of Mobile Volleyball team won the 2024 SSAC Volleyball Championship, presented by Dreamland BBQ, on Saturday, Nov. 16, with the top-seeded Rams defeating conference rival William Carey (Miss.) 3-1 (18-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-16) to earn the third SSAC title in program history. Mobile, led by 20th-year head coach Jon Campbell, finished this year's tournament undefeated at 5-0 after finishing as the SSAC runner-up in each of the last two seasons. The conference championship is the Rams' first since 2020 and snaps a string of three-straight titles won by Blue Mountain Christian (Miss.).

Mobile will continue the impressive 31-4 season at the 2024 NAIA Volleyball National Championship Opening Round, scheduled for Nov. 23. Opponents and locations are to be determined by the NAIA Volleyball Championship committee.

Match Highlights

William Carey took an early lead in Saturday's championship final, capitalizing on Mobile errors and winning the set, 25-18. Mobile adjusted quickly and bounced back in set two, with standout performances from players like Aspen Adams and Corrina Porch-Maxey, tying the match at 1-1 with a 25-22 win over the Crusaders.

Building on their momentum, the Rams cruised to a 25-18 victory in the third set, forcing pressure on the William Carey bench. The final set saw Mobile completely dominate, securing the championship with a 25-16 win after Layton Adams pushed a kill to the back corner of William Carey's side.
