SALEM, Ore. - The University of Mobile Volleyball team's impressive 2024 season concluded in the NAIA Volleyball National Championship Opening Round on Saturday, Nov. 23 as the Rams fell to Corban University (Ore.) in straight sets (25-20, 25-18, 25-23) in Salem, Ore.
Mobile ends the season with a 31-5 overall record and as the SSAC Volleyball Tournament and Regular Season Champions.
Match Summary
Mobile struggled to find consistency against a sharp Corban squad that ranks No. 8 in the NAIA. The Rams recorded just a .153 attack percentage compared to Corban's .204, with the Warriors' balanced offense being led by standout performances from Emma Bischoff (13 kills, .296) and Makayla Roginski (10 kills, .292).
The Warriors also capitalized on defensive efforts, registering 50 digs and five service aces. Mobile kept things close throughout each set, showing fight in the third set after battling to a 25-23 finish. However, the Rams ultimately could not overcome Corban's consistent play.
For Mobile, Dazsha Dean Middleton, this year's SSAC Volleyball Player of the Year, delivered a strong performance in her final match, leading the Rams with nine kills off a .400 hitting percentage and six blocks. Layton Adams contributed 15 assists, seven kills and six blocks, while SSAC Co-Setter of the Year Tatum Beech facilitated the offense with 17 assists. In addition, both Aspen Adams and Emily Osborne each tallied six kills in the defeat, while Jaci Drinnon paced the defense with 14 digs. Like Middleton, both Layton Adams and Aspen Adams, as well as Tatum Beech, wrapped up their collegiate careers with Mobile in the opening-round loss.
The Rams' season ends after achieving significant milestones in the SSAC, including a 30-win campaign for the first time since 2017.
