Rams Fall 2-1 to Running Eagles at Home

Life strikes late to steal win away from home team

THE JUNGLE | MOBILE, Ala. -  The University of Mobile Men's Soccer team fell 2-1 to the Running Eagles of Life University on Saturday afternoon with the visitors snatching the victory in the final minutes to leave the Rams empty handed in heartbreaking fashion. The Rams came into the match 3-2-1 in SSAC play while their opponents were 6-1 following their only loss of the season against William Carey on Thursday night.

Mobile would open the scoring in the 14th minute when Jeb Scarbrough played a pass off to Joseph McMahon who beamed in an effort past the goalkeeper from outside the box. The Rams would hold the lead for just under 12 minutes as Life would equalize on a free header inside the box. The first half would close out with both sides level at 1-1 with the opposition having most of the opportunities, outshooting Mobile 10-3. Mobile and Life would return for the second half with both sides having opportunities to take the lead, but neither side able to capitalize on the chances. Unfortunately for the Rams, their opponents would find the back of the net again in the 83rd minute with what would be the game winner as Life University took home a 2-1 victory in the SSAC matchup.

Three Rams collected yellow cards in the match with Samuel Vergara, Salia Carr, and Guido Solaro all finding their way into the referee's book. Life saw 2 two players and two members of their coaching staff pick up yellow cards following several heated exchanges with the game officials throughout the match.
