Heartbreak for Women's Basketball in the SSAC Championship Game

Mobile Loses to #8 Seed Blue Mountain in Montgomery

MULTIPLEX AT CRAMTON BOWL | MONTGOMERY, Ala. - A fantastic run in the SSAC Conference Tournament for the Women's Baketball team ends in heartbreak as they fell to Blue Mountain (Miss.) in the championship match. A strong 4th quarter from the Toppers helped to overturn Mobile's lead, and sealed the comeback win, which sent the Rams home empty handed after reaching the final for the second time in two years.

SSAC WBB Tournament Championship

The University of Mobile Women's Basketball team came up short, falling 62-53 to Blue Mountain Christian on Saturday evening. The Rams controlled much of the first half, building a 10-point lead late in the second quarter. Despite the strong start, the Rams couldn't hold off a late surge from the Toppers, who took their first lead of the match by outscoring Mobile 24-10 in the final quarter to secure the title.

Mobile was led by their core group of seniors including Braylee McMath, who led the team with 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. Alanna Donaldson contributed 13 points and 5 assists, while Miriam Oldacre added 12 points and 6 rebounds.

The Rams, under the leadership of Head Coach Sydney Westryhave made the final of the conference tournament both years of her tenure. Through those two seasons of work, the Women's Basketball team holds an overall record of 48-15
and now waits to see if they will receive a bid to compete in the NAIA National Tournament.
