METAIRIE, La. – The University of Mobile men's soccer program traveled to Metairie, Louisiana, on Friday night, where the Rams fell 2-0 against Xavier University (La.) at Lafreniere Park. The loss moves Mobile to 0-2 on the season.
The match remained level through the first half as both sides worked to break through defensively. Mobile managed six shots in the contest, with senior forward Joe McMahon recording three, including the Rams' lone attempt on target. Darlington Aboagye, Jeb Scarbrough, and James Kwakye each added shots as Mobile pushed for chances in the attacking third.
Despite the Rams' efforts, Xavier capitalized twice in the second half to take control of the match, while Mobile was unable to find a way back into the match. In goal, Sam MacDonald recorded three saves across the full 90 minutes.
