Rams Dominant Over Middle Georgia State Thursday Night

Mobile Puts Together Best Offensive Game of the Season on Thursday

H. AUSTILL PHARR GYMNASIUM, MOBILE, Ala. - The University of Mobile Men's Basketball team came away with a convincing conference win over Middle Georgia State University on Thursday night, Dec. 15 in Pharr Gymnasium, defeating the Knights 96-71 and leading the game for 35 of the 40 minutes played. The win is the second-straight for Mobile and improves the current overall record to 6-4, while advancing the conference record to 2-3 ahead of one more conference game this upcoming Saturday before the Christmas holiday.

Mobile Offense Rock Solid

Once Mobile grabbed the lead five minutes into Thursday's game against Middle Georgia State, the Rams never looked back, seeing their lead increase to a game-high 30 points at one point. As a team, Mobile shot above 50% in all three categories on the box score, highlighted by shooting a season-high 62.7% from the floor. Mobile went 37-for-59 from the floor, while adding a 52% line from behind the arch for three and a 57% mark from the free throw line. Mobile made 11 three point shots in the win.

Meanwhile, Middle Georgia State's offense struggled much of the game, only tallying a 36% shooting line from the floor. The Knights made just three three point shots in 23 attempts and allowed Mobile to score 15 points off 12 turnovers. One of the few positives for Middle Georgia State came from the free throw line where the Knights finished 20-for-28.

Individually, Mobile saw several players put together great nights on the court in Thursday's win, with Trent Moye leading all scorers with 22 points. Moye went 8-for-14 from the floor, including swishing four threes. Ezra McKenna finished with 15 points and added five rebounds, while DaMariee Jones ended his night one assist away from a triple-double. Jones notched his fourth double-double of the season, scoring 13 points and leading Mobile with 12 rebounds. He added nine assists, which also led the team.

PJ King came away with 12 points, joining Moye in making four three point shots in the win, and Pooh Frazier finished the night with 11 points as five Rams finished with double-digit point totals. Additionally, Max Keebaugh and Keon Walker finished with a season-high eight points each against Middle Georgia State.

Back to Work on Saturday

The Rams will look to keep the momentum rolling on Saturday, Dec. 17 as Mobile will host Brewton-Parker College in a conference game. Saturday's game in Pharr Gymnasium is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. CT and is the final game on the schedule for Mobile ahead of the Christmas holiday.
