Five Rams Set for 2022 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships

2022 NAIA Indoor Track and Field Nationals Begin Thursday in Brookings, South Dakota

BROOKINGS, SD - The official final rosters and entry lists for all qualifiers for the 2022 Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field National Championships have been finalized by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the national championship meet is set to begin on Mar. 3 at South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota. The championships will take place inside the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex from March 3-5, 2022.

The University of Mobile Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field teams, led by head coach Andy Canegitta, saw a total of five Rams punch their tickets to Brookings this season by qualifying across several events. Three student-athletes from the women's team at Mobile qualified while two from the men's team earned trips to nationals. Those Rams who qualified, as well as the event(s) qualified in, are listed below:

 
Anna Cabrera was the lone Ram to qualify for the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships last season as Fedra Florentin, Latavia Jack, and Joseph Moses III are all in their first seasons with Mobile. Senior Donald Evans III managed to qualify for this year's championships in the last meet of the 2021-22 regular season in his final season with Mobile. All five student-athletes from Mobile, as well as head coach Andy Canegitta, flew to South Dakota on Tuesday, Mar. 1.


Additionally, Mobile is one of four member schools of the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) that will be represented in Brookings this week. On the men's side, Brewton-Parker College and William Carey University will join Mobile in having student-athletes competing across seven different events. On the women's side, Loyola University (La.) and William Carey will join Mobile and combine to have 10 student-athletes competing across eight events.
