Rams Take Home Two Top 10 Finishes at NAIA Indoor T&F Championships

William McGough and Emily Wolf both place inside top 10 in individual events

ALACHUA COUNTY SPORTS & EVENTS CENTER | GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The 2026 Indoor Track and Field season has come and gone with the conclusion of the 2026 NAIA Men's and Women's Indoor T&F Championships over the weekend. For the University of Mobile Indoor T&F program, there were two athletes who had the honor of competing at the national championship after meeting the NAIA standards in their events. William McGough and Emily Wolf competed in the 60m and Shot Put respectively with both Rams claiming top 10 finishes. Both Rams had strong indoor campaigns that saw them break both personal and school records on multiple occasions.

For William McGough, the NAIA Indoor Championships would be a follow up to his 3rd place finish at the SSAC Indoor Championships. The sophomore sprinter would face a field of strong competition from across the country, including the two sprinters from within the SSAC that stood on the podium with him at conference. During the prelims, McGough would post a time of 6.72 seconds which would be enough to advance him into the finals alongside 7 others. In the finals, a great start off the line saw him racing right at the front of the pack at the 3.2 second mark. He would cross the finish line with the same time he recorded in the prelims, a 6.72, that would earn him 4th place overall. For his efforts at nationals, which saw him break the school record once again, William McGough was named an NAIA All-American.

Emily Wolf came in to the NAIA Championships looking to follow up her gold medal in Shot Put from the SSAC Championships. During the SSAC Championships, Emily broke her own school record by throwing an impressive 13.43m to claim the gold medal. At the National Championships, Emily opened up her first attempt with a 12.77m throw. On her second attempt she improved with a 13.22m throw. Heading into her third attempt, she needed a 13.33m throw or better to beat the cut and continue throwing. Unfortunately, she could not improve upon her second attempt, landing at 13.15m to see her time throwing at nationals come to an end. While she didn't make the cut, her 13.22m throw would be enough to secure 10th place overall, while also continuing to add her name to the list of best Shot Put throws in Mobile Indoor T&F history.
