UM Softball Puts Together 4-0 Conference Weekend; Improves to 26-0 on the Season

No. 8 Mobile Continues to Roll as Team Improves to 26-0 Following 4-0 Weekend on the Road

BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. - The University of Mobile Softball team hit the road for four conference games against two different opponents on Saturday and Sunday, Mar. 19-20. On Saturday, the eighth-ranked Rams battled the Stillman College Tigers in Tuscaloosa, Ala. where Mobile scored two wins to begin the weekend, one of those wins being a run-rule victory, 12-5. The following day, Mobile traveled north the Blue Mountain, Miss. where the Rams went to battle with the Toppers of Blue Mountain College. Mobile won both games on Sunday afternoon against Blue Mountain to improve the 2022 season record to 26-0 on the year, putting the Rams just two games short of the all-time program record of wins in a row at 28.


Game 1 Highlights (Sat.) - (8) Mobile 12, Stillman 2 (5 Innings) | Tuscaloosa, Ala.
  • Mobile earned a run-rule victory over Stillman in game one of Saturday's doubleheader, out-hitting the Tigers, 11-7.
  • Eight of Mobile's 12 runs were scored in the top of the first inning.
  • Eila Infante finished 2-for-3 at the plate, leading the team with five RBI in the win.
  • Kaylee Pullin and Caitlin McRee each finished with two RBI in the victory, with McRee recording a team-high three hits.
  • Emily Butts was awarded the win from the pitcher's circle, pitching four innings of work while allowing five hits.
  • Mobile's run-rule win is the team's fifth during the 2022 campaign.

Game 2 Highlights (Sat.) - (8) Mobile 4, Stillman 1 | Tuscaloosa, Ala.
  • After Stillman scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the first, the Rams answered with four-unanswered runs, two coming in the fifth inning.
  • Kaylee Pullin smacked a two-run homer in the fifth for her team-leading fourth home run of the season.
  • Katie Head finished 2-for-2 at the dish with two RBI.
  • Emily Butts pitched 6.2 innings from out of the bullpen to get her second win of the doubleheader.
  • The Rams out-hit the Tigers, 12-5.

Game 3 Highlights (Sun.) - (8) Mobile 6, Blue Mountain 1 | Blue Mountain, Miss.
  • The Rams scored the first six runs of the game, allowing the lone Blue Mountain run in the bottom of the fifth.
  • Kristen Black and Katie Head both recorded two-run doubles in the victory while Hannah Halfacre joined the doubles party with an RBI double of her own.
  • Seven of Mobile's nine batters recorded at least one hit as Jaden Morace led the team finishing 2-for-4 at the dish.
  • Emily Butts earned her third-straight win for Mobile from the circle, finishing with a line of 7.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 4 K, 0 BB.
  • Butts' complete-game was her seventh of the season and improves her record to 12-0 from the circle.

Game 4 Highlights (Sun.) - (8) Mobile 7, Blue Mountain 1 | Blue Mountain, Miss.
  • Mobile managed to out-hit the Toppers, 12-3.
  • Jaden Morace led all Rams with three hits, while Courtney Ellzey and Madi Robertson each collected two.
  • Katie Head collected two more RBI in the win, giving her seven total on the week.
  • Following Kristen Black's 1-for-3 game, she hit .500 on the week while continuing to hit .476 on the season, leading all SSAC Softball players.
  • Brinkley Goff pitched a complete game three-hitter, striking out four.
  • Goff improves her season record to 9-0 from the circle this year. 


Overall, Mobile is now hitting .366 as a team while slugging .491. The team's on-base percentage sits at a stellar .402 while the team's pitching ERA continues to sit below 1.30 at 1.24. Emily Butts leads all pitchers with a sub-one ERA at 0.96 as Kristen Black and Kaylee Pullin currently leads Mobile with the bat. Black is hitting .476 with 14 RBI and Pullin leads the Rams with four home runs and 36 runs-batted-in.



Mobile is scheduled to face a ranked opponent in Georgia Gwinnett College at home on Tuesday, Mar. 22 for their next two games on the schedule, however, severe weather forecasted for Tuesday in the Mobile, Ala. area could postpone that doubleheader.

The Rams will host two more conference opponents at home this upcoming weekend with Faulkner University coming to town on Friday, Mar. 25 for a doubleheader at 3:00 p.m. CT and Talladega College facing Mobile the following day at 12:00 p.m. CT.
