No. 2 Mobile Cruises Past SCAD Savannah on Friday Evening

Rams Squash the Bees of SCAD Friday at the Jungle

MOBILE, Ala. - It has been 12 days since the last time the second-ranked Rams of the University of Mobile Men's Soccer program took the field for a regular season match due to several weather cancellations to open the 2022 season. With a nice win over a talented Embry-Riddle University team being the last match the Rams played, Mobile returned to the field with little rust and tallied a dominating 6-0 victory over the SCAD Savannah Bees on Friday evening, Sept. 2 at the Jungle.

The Rams wasted no time getting on the scoreboard as Lucas Ros connected with the Mobile's first goal in just the second minute of the match. Jose Sanabria was credited with the assist after a near-perfect cross pass to the foot of Ros. Just over 20 minutes later, Mobile extended their lead with a goal in the 24th minute.

Angel Almiron scored Mobile's second goal on the night as Kevin Fitzgerald recorded his first assist in a Mobile uniform. Later in the first half, great ball movement by Mobile allowed Joshua Bynoe to break free and score his team-leading third goal of the season as Fitzgerald recorded back-to-back assists. Tom Carles, who checked into the match just a couple of minutes prior, scored his first goal with Mobile in the 44th minute following a pass from Chiedu Ikeme who was awarded the assist. The Rams went to the halftime break with 4-0 lead.

In the second half, Chiedu Ikeme scored just seven minutes into the second half, making it a 5-0 game. Ikeme has now recorded two goals and two assists on the season in his first year with Mobile.

The Rams scored their final goal of the match in the 64th minute off the foot of the man who got the party started in the second minute, Lucas Ros. Ros received a great pass by reserve Miguel Pereira, who tallied his first assist on the year. The Rams went on to win the match 6-0 to advance their overall record on the 2022 season at 2-0-1.

Starting goalkeeper for Mobile Ty Turner played all 90 minutes and recorded one save. The Rams controlled possession of the ball for the majority of the match as SCAD was only allowed four shots on the night. For Mobile, the Rams took a total of 18 shots, with 13 of those being on-goal.

First Road Trip Upcoming
