SSAC Announces (1) Mobile v. (9) Dalton State as Men's Soccer Game of the Week

Top-Ranked Rams v. Ninth-Ranked Roadrunners of Dalton State Tabbed Conference Match of the Week in Men's Soccer

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) announced the fourth slate of 2022-23 SSAC Games of the Week, presented by Herff Jones. On the men's soccer side, the NAIA Top-10 battle featuring the No. 1 University of Mobile Rams and No. 9 Dalton State College has been selected as the conference's game of the week, being scheduled for Friday, Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m. CT in Dalton, Ga.

For Mobile, Friday's match with Dalton State is the second road match in a nine-day span where the Rams face off with a team ranked within the top 10 in the NAIA. Mobile defeated No. 10 Georgia Gwinnett 5-4 on the road on Sept. 21.

  • The Mobile Rams are 6-0-1 on the year and 1-0 in SSAC play, earning the No. 1 ranking in the NAIA Top 25.
  • The Dalton State Roadrunners rank No. 9 in the NAIA at 5-0-2 overall.
  • For Mobile, Lucas Ros leads the team with six goals, while Chiedu Ikeme has three goals and two assists. Additionally, Sebastian Jorgge of Mobile is the reigning SSAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week following his three-assist, one-goal week last week.
  • The Mobile defense has allowed only eight goals in seven games, with Ty Turner delivering a pair of shutouts as goalkeeper.
  • For Dalton State, Justin Riescher has seven goals and three assists and Leonardo Seixas has four goals and two assists.
  • Defensively, the Roadrunners have allowed only five goals in seven games, with Michael Barrueta turning in a pair of shutouts.
  • Mobile leads Dalton State in the all-time series record with six wins and just two losses.
