LAUREL, Miss. - The University of Mobile Men's Basketball team defeated Southeastern Baptist College (Miss.) 81-51 on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 9, improving to 9-2 overall on the season in the process. Mobile never trailed in Saturday's meeting against the Chargers, which improved the Rams' all-time record to 9-0 against Southeastern Baptist over the last five seasons.

Saturday's win for Mobile came as a complete team effort as head coach Darnell Archey sent 15 players on the court throughout the game. Mobile outscored Southeastern Baptist 44-25 in the first half, shooting north of 50% in the process. The Rams made 18 total shots from the floor, with DaMariee Jones leading all players with 12 first-half points.
In the second half, Mobile added 37 more points, while holding the Chargers to just 26. The Rams' shooting percentage dipped to 37% in the final 20 minutes, making three less shots than the first half. Overall, Mobile finished the 81-51 victory with a 45% shooting mark, while making 11 three-pointers in the win. Meanwhile, Southeastern Baptist was only able to shoot 42% against Mobile, making 22 total shots.
Trent Moye led all players with 21 points, making five three-pointers on Saturday. Moye added five assists and four rebounds and finished with an 8-for-18 shooting line from the floor. Ezra McKenna followed Moye with 17 points, collecting his eighth double-double of the season. The reigning five-time SSAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week added 10 rebounds and finished four assists shy of his first-career triple-double.
In addition, Moye and McKenna were followed by DaMariee Jones, who finished Saturday with 16 points and five rebounds. Jones led Mobile with four blocks and shared the team lead with Joshua Williams in assists with seven and steals with three. Williams eventually ended Saturday's win with nine points.
As a team, Mobile recorded a season-high 29 total assists on 33 made shots. Additionally, the Rams forced 24 Southeastern Baptist turnovers, scoring 21 points off giveaways, and out-rebounded the Chargers, 38-27. A total of 17 of Mobile's 38 rebounds came on the offensive side, leading to 13 second chance points.
Return to Conference Play
Following Mobile's dominating win over Southeastern Baptist, the Rams are scheduled to return to action on the road next Thursday, Dec. 14. Mobile is set to face Blue Mountain Christian (Miss.) next Thursday in Blue Mountain, Miss. for a 7:30 p.m. CT contest. Two days later, Mobile will wrap up regular season play for the month of December with a road game against Stillman College (Ala.) in Tuscaloosa, Ala. at 2:00 p.m. CT.
