Mobile Works Scorless Draw with AUM in Montgomery

Rams, Warhawks Meet for Third-Consecutive Year; Record 0-0 Draw on Saturday

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - For the third-straight season, the University of Mobile Men's Soccer team faced off with NCAA Division II's Auburn University of Montgomery (Ala.) over the weekend, tallying a scoreless draw in the process. Mobile hosted AUM two seasons ago in what was tabbed as an exhibition match for the Rams, but saw Mobile earn an upset victory. Last season, Mobile traveled north to Montgomery, Ala. for a regular season match against the WarHawks and defeated AUM again. On Saturday, the Rams once again traveled to Montgomery, Ala. to face AUM, which eventually saw both teams keep one another off the scoreboard.

Mobile's overall record moves to 1-2-1 following the Rams' first tie of the year.

Match Recap: No Goals Despite 11 Total Shots

Despite a 0-0 final, 11 total shots were taken between the two teams on Saturday, with the WarHawks managing a 6-5 shot advantage. Three of Mobile's five shots came in the first 45 minutes, whereas AUM recorded five of their six shots in the latter part of the match. Both starting goalkeepers tallied three saves each to save the draw. All three saves for Mobile keeper Ty Turner came in the second half.

Zacharia Hasler was responsible for three of Mobile's five shots. The senior saw two of his shots on target, but saved by the AUM keeper. Henrique Luro Mendes and Samuel Mutiri notched Mobile's other two shots, with Mendes' lone shot being on-goal.

Set for SSAC Action

Following the draw with AUM, the Rams are set for two conference matches next week on the road. Mobile kicks off SSAC play with a match against Point University (Ga.) in West Point, Ga. on Thursday, Sept. 14 at 6:30 p.m. CT. Following that, the Rams battle Thomas University (Ga.) on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 3:00 p.m. CT in Thomasville, Ga.
