Women's Soccer Celebrates Senior Day with Shutout Win Over Point

Rams Hold Off Skyhawks 3-0 on Saturday Afternoon

THE JUNGLE | MOBILE, Ala. - The University of Mobile Women's Soccer team returned to the Jungle on Saturday, Oct. 19, hosting Point University (Ga.) in an SSAC matchup. Match Highlights

Mobile dominated the shot totals in the 3-0 shutout on Saturday, out-shooting Point 23-6 across the full 90 minutes. In addition, the Rams took a whopping 16 corner kicks compared to Point's one. Mobile's first goal of the day came in the 32nd minute where Raegan Latiolais tallied her team-leading eighth goal of the season following a cross from Carla Saborido. Eight minutes later, the Rams went up 2-0 on Point after Lindsey Meza scored on an impressive shot well outside the box on her Senior Day. The goal for Meza is her third of the year as it came with family in attendance. From there, Mobile went to halftime leading, 2-0.

In the second half, the Rams notched an insurance goal in the 72nd minute as first-year Ram Nicole Fabbruzzo recorded her first collegiate goal. Raegan Latiolais earned the assist on Fabbruzzo's goal, finishing Saturday with one goal and one assist in the win. Additionally, Latiolais led the team with five shots against the Skyhawks.

Reigning SSAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week Ebba Elweroth was outstanding once again in net for the Rams, collecting her sixth clean sheet of the season, while picking up a pair of saves. In the last three starts, Elweroth has allowed just two goals and has totaled 11 saves. She sits just 12 saves shy of 100 for her career at Mobile.

Two Regular Season Matches Left

Mobile is set to return to action next Tuesday, Oct. 22 with a makeup game against the conference's newest member Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (Ga.). Tuesday's match was originally slated for Oct. 3, but Hurricane Helene forced a postponement. The matchup is the first in history between the two programs and is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m. CT at the Jungle.

Following the match against ABAC, the Rams will conclude the regular season with a home match against conference rival William Carey (Miss.) on Thursday evening, Oct. 24, with that matchup scheduled for 5:00 p.m. CT.
