THE JUNGLE | MOBILE, Ala. - The University of Mobile Women's Soccer team delivered a dominating performance against the SSAC's newest member Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (Ga.) on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 22, defeating the Stallions 8-0 in a lopsided match at the Jungle. With the victory, Mobile improved to 9-4-2 overall on the season and a strong 7-2-1 in conference play, while ABAC dropped to 3-9-1. Mobile currently sits tied with Life University (Ga.) for third overall in the SSAC Women's Soccer standings with just one regular season match left to be played.
Game Summary
The Rams' offensive approach sparked from the start against ABAC, with Raegan Latiolais opening the scoring in just the fifth minute of the match. Just minutes later, Latiolais doubled her tally, scoring again in the ninth minute with an assist from Andi Hughes. Latiolais continues to lead Mobile with 10 goals scored this season. Becca Ryan then subbed in for Latiolais halfway through the first half and netted her second goal of the year right before the halftime whistle in the 38th minute. Mobile led comfortably 3-0 at the halftime break, out-shooting ABAC 20-2 through the first 45 minutes.
The second half was more of the same, as Mobile poured on five more goals. Ashlyn Broussard scored her first goal of the season in the 61st minute, followed quickly by Natalie Burt's third goal of the year just one minute later. Becca Ryan then notched goals two and three of the match across the 67th and 71st minutes for her first collegiate hat trick. Lucy Allen rounded out the scoring in the 80th minute with her first goal of the season, sealing the 8-0 victory.
The solid performance gives the Rams a great chance in hosting a first-round match in the upcoming SSAC Women's Soccer Championship Tournament.
