MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Tyler Cruse of the University of Mobile Baseball program was named the SSAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced on Monday, Apr. 1. The award is based on performance for the week of March 25-31.
Cruse helped guide the Rams to a three-game sweep over Point University (Ga.) last weekend, opening the series with a complete-game performance on the mound. Cruse, a southpaw from Lexington, Ala., becomes the first Ram during the 2024 season to earn a conference pitcher/player of the week honor in the SSAC. Mobile currently sits fourth in the current SSAC Baseball standings with an 11-7 conference record, while improving to 12-12 overall following the three wins against Point.

- This is his first-career weekly honor.
- Cruse tossed a complete-game three-hit shutout in a 4-0 win at Point.
- He struck out three in the game, while earning his third victory on the rubber this season.
