Rams Compete in UAH Chargers XC Invitational

Mobile takes 17th and 22nd in XC meet

JOHN HUNT PARK | HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The University of Mobile Men's and Women's Cross Country teams traveled to Huntsville, Alabama as they competed in the UAH Chargers XC Invitational. The meet serves as a favorite for some of Mobile's runners with the meet typically falling on the weekend of Fall Break. The course would serve up positive conditions that allowed multiple Rams to set new personal records or season bests in the meet

The men's team finished 17th out of 26 teams in the in the 8K while the women placed 22nd out of 26 teams. In the women's 6k every single runner set a new season best with several breaking their personal records in the process. Claire Atkins, Kaylea Holmes, Zandrea Ofstedahl, and Taylor Baker all set new personal records for themselves with Atkins leading the way with a 23:56.3. In the men's 8k, several runners set new bests for the season while some of them set a new personal record in the process. Senior Joey Jones broke his previous PR of 25:09.5 with his first sub 25 minute time. William Givens, and Johnathan Turner set new season bests, while John Vickers, Peter Eckhoff, Grant Holder, and Jaiden Harrell all set new personal records.
