Men's XC Win 2025 Championship; Women Place 5th

Rams close out 2025 season in Danville,Alabama

OAKVILLE INDIAN MOUNDS | DANVILLE, Ala. - The 2025 Men's and Women's Cross Country season came to a close for the Rams with the mens team claiming their second ever SSAC Championship to become back-to-back champions while the womens team took home a 5th placed finish at the SSAC Cross Country Championship on Friday morning. The Women's 6000m race got started at 8:30am CT at the Oakville Indian Mounds course where William Carey took home the championship followed up by UT-Southern, Blue Mountain, and Dalton State with Mobile rounding out the top 5 with 112 points. The Men's 8000m started at 9:15am CT with Mobile beating Loyola University by a single point to claim the title. Mobile had 4 runners place in the top ten between the two team as Joey Jones placed 2nd, John Spillers in 6th, William Givens in 9th, and Claire Atkins taking 10th.

Up Next for the Rams

For many of the runners for the Mobile cross country teams, they now shift their focus over to the upcoming Indoor Track and Field Season. The University of Mobile Men's and Women's Cross Country teams will return next year for the 2026 season with the men's team looking to defend their title once again and become back-to-back-to-back champions.
