Women's Tennis Suffers Defeat in SSAC Championship Tournament Semifinal

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MOBILE TENNIS CENTER | MOBILE Ala. - The University of Mobile Women's Tennis team kicked off their run in the SSAC Championship Tournament on Thursday morning, facing UT-Southern in their first match. A win against the Firehawks brought the Rams into a match with the No. 1 seed Crusaders of William Carey in the semifinals. Mobile's journey in the tournament would end there as they fell to William Carey, bringing an end to the SSAC tournament run that the team had hoped for.

Mobile was dominant in their first match of the tournament, with no seed going to 3 sets. Mobile would take the doubles point with wins a the 2 and 3 seeds, while Mobile would win at the 1, 5, and 6 seeds in singles play to take a 4-0 win over the Firehawks and secure their place in the next match of the tournament.

Semifinal Recap

Mobile came into the semifinals with the odds against them as they faced off against the SSAC regular season champions, and No. 1 seed William Carey. The rivalry match would not go in favor of the Rams as they were beat 0-4 by the Crusaders. The loss brought with it the end of the Rams' season.
