Women's Golf Competes in Carey Collegiate presented by Walk-On's

Rams place 9th at second tournament of the season

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The University of Mobile Women's Golf team placed 9th at this week's Carey Collegiate presented by Walk-On's. The two-day, three-round tournament started on Monday morning before wrapping up on Tuesday afternoon, with a practice round being held on Sunday for all teams. The tournament was hosted by William Carey at the Canebrake Country Club.

Tournament Results

Collectively, Mobile finished the tournament shooting 218 over par. Grace Bryant led all Rams through round one, shooting 12, with teammate Lora Lee Williams shooting 18 over. It would be Grace Bryant and Maeva Constantinoff who would nab the only birdies of round one for the Rams with Bryant getting the birdie on hole 17 while Constantinoff birdied hole 5.

In round two, Grace Bryant continued as she started shooting another 12 over to lead the Rams again. Kristen Rachel improved on her first round score, shooting 20 over for an 8 stroke improvement over round one. Rachel would also record her first birdie of the tournament on hole 5, while Bryant added two more on holes 4 and 6.

Round three saw Maeva Constantinoff with the most improvement of all Rams, shooting 12 over and tying with Williams for round three scores. Bryant would improve to a 9 over par round giving her a 14 stroke difference over her closest teammate. Bryant and Rachel would once again provide the birdies in round three on holes 1 and 12 respectively.

Up Next for the Rams

Women's Golf will look to bounce back in the new year, with their next competition coming on January 25th-27th as they compete in the Carey on the Coast Invitational in Vancleave, Mississippi.
