Cassidy Arcement Honored For Senior Day; Rams Fall To Middle Georgia State

MOBILE DROPS HOME MATCH TO THE KNIGHTS ON SENIOR DAY

 

MOBILE, Ala. - The University of Mobile Women's Soccer team returned home to host the Middle Georgia State Knights on Saturday, Mar. 27 and fell to the Knights, 5-1. With Saturday's win, Middle Georgia State currently sits atop of the SSAC Women's Soccer standings with a 5-0 record. Mobile's overall record falls to 3-10-1 on the year and 2-3 in SSAC action.

Prior to Saturday afternoon's match against Middle Georgia State, the University of Mobile and head women's soccer coach Brian Person honored the one graduating senior from this year's women's soccer roster.

Cassidy Arcement (SR/Covington, La.) was accompanied by her family on Saturday as she winds down her collegiate career at the University of Mobile. During her time with Mobile, Arcement has been named to the conference all-academic team three times while earning a SSAC Defensive Player of the Week honor earlier this season. Arcement was given flowers and was then greeted by her teammates and coaches for photos and hugs before the match began.

In the match, Mobile struggled in the first half and allowed four goals for Middle Georgia State. Payton Lewis (SR/Niceville, Fla.) got the start for Mobile in the net and mixed in four saves while allowing the four goals. Brian Person made a change at the goalkeeper position coming out of halftime with Mobile down, 4-0. From there, the Knights scored just once in the second half. Maria Alejandra Diaz Linde (SO/Guatemala City, Guatemala) also recorded four saves in the 45 minutes of playing time in the second half while allowing just one Middle Georgia State goal.

The Rams hit the scoreboard in the 52nd minute when Anakah Madril (SO/Navarre, Fla.) dribbled past defenders a shot a strike past the Middle Georgia State goalkeeper for Mobile's lone goal. For Madril, that is her second goal of the season. The Rams were out-shot in the match, 17-6.

  

Mobile is scheduled to play just one more regular season match this season with it coming on Monday, Mar. 29 against Brewton-Parker College at home. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. CT.
