Rams Struggle in Road Game Against Loyola

Wolf Pack Explode Offensively; Handle Mobile with Ease on Saturday

NEW ORLEANS, La. - In a rescheduled game from an earlier postponement, the University of Mobile Women's Basketball team traveled to New Orleans, La. on Saturday, Jan. 15 for a game against the Loyola University Wolf Pack. Entering Saturday, Loyola ranked No. 24 in the NAIA Women's Basketball Top 25 Coaches' poll and managed to defeat Mobile with ease, 113-69.

Loyola was lights out offensively for the entire game as the Wolf Pack managed to have a 40-13 edge over the Rams following the first quarter. For Mobile, it was an uphill climb from tip as halftime saw Loyola come away with a 66-33 lead. The Wolf Pack scored at least 23 points in every quarter while Mobile scored a high of 21 points in the fourth quarter.

The Rams shot 39% from the floor in the game and 69% from the free-throw line. Loyola managed to record a 55% shooting percentage in their 77 attempts. Mobile made just one three-point shot out of 10 attempts while Erica Jones led Mobile with 15 points in the loss while mixing in four rebounds. MacKenzie White recorded 12 points and a team-high seven rebounds and two blocks.

Mobile will attempt to shake off the big defeat by Loyola and will return to the court for a conference game against rival William Carey on the road in Hattiesburg, Miss. Tip-off is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 17 at 5:30 p.m. CT.
