Bynoe For Three; Scarbrough Subs in For Two More
Prior to Saturday evening's match featuring the Rams and Knights of Middle Georgia State, 12 seniors from the UM Men's Soccer program were honored for Senior Day. Joshua Bynoe was included among those 12, and recorded his season-best match in front of fans and his Father who made the trip from England to support his son on Senior Day.
Bynoe put in the first score of the match in just the second minute of the match and later added one more goal in the first quarter coming in the 27th minute. Additionally, Lucas Ros tallied a goal for the Rams in the 19th minute for his team-leading eighth goal of the season. After a successful penalty kick for Middle Georgia State, both teams went to halftime with Mobile leading, 3-1.
Coming out of the half, Bynoe notched his third goal of the match in the 53rd minute. Coming into Saturday's bout with Middle Georgia State, Bynoe had just three goals on the season. He brings his total to six on the season following his Saturday hat trick on Senior Day.
With the Rams up 4-1 halfway through the second half, Mobile Head Coach Daniel Whelan subbed in several reserves from off his bench, including newcomers Darlinton Aboagye and Jeb Scarbrough. Aboagye managed to score his second goal of the season in the 72nd minute with a header strike following a free kick from Kevin Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald was given the assist.
Jeb Scarbrough, who checked into the match for Joshua Bynoe, put together his first collegiate multi-goal match, scoring late in the 86th and 90th minutes of the match. Scarbrough's two goals brings his total to three on the year. From there, the Rams came away with the 7-1 win.
