Mobile Set to Face Lindsey Wilson College in Semifinals of NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Tournament

Rams Battle the Blue Raiders in Semifinal Match on Saturday

JACK ALLEN SOCCER COMPLEX, DECATUR, Ala. - The University of Mobile Men's Soccer team is scheduled to face off with Lindsey Wilson College in the semifinals of the 64th Annual NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship on Saturday, Dec. 3 following a quarterfinal victory over Missouri Valley College. The Rams of Mobile entered the final site of the 2022 NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship as the No. 3 seed, sporting a 17-3-1 overall record, while Lindsey Wilson entered as the No. 10 seed with a 13-6-4 overall record. The meeting in Saturday's semifinal round match is set for 4:00 p.m. CT at the Jack Allen Soccer Complex in Decatur, Ala.

Mobile has faced off with Lindsey Wilson 20 times in team history, with Lindsey Wilson leading the series with a 12-8 overall record. The first meeting between the two programs came during Mobile's inaugural season in 1991, with the last meeting occurring during the 2021 season. Mobile has managed to win the last two matches played against the Blue Raiders, defeating Lindsey Wilson on their home turf in August of 2021. In the last 10 matches played, Mobile owns a 4-6 record.

During the 2022 NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Tournament, the Blue Raiders have managed to defeat No. 7 St. Thomas University and No. 2 Dalton State College in the time span of two days. Lindsey Wilson is coming off a 1-0 win over the second-seeded Roadrunners of Dalton State in quarterfinal action on Thursday, Dec. 1. For Mobile, the Rams defeated the sixth-seeded Vikings of Missouri Valley College 3-1 on Thursday evening to advance to the semifinals. Mobile currently resides as the highest remaining seed in this year's tournament field as both the top two seeds were eliminated in the quarterfinals during Thursday's action. No. 1 Mid-American Christian fell to the No. 9 seed of Rio Grande, with No. 2 Dalton State dropping their match against Lindsey Wilson.

For Mobile on the season, Lucas Ros continues to pace the Rams with 13 goals scored on the year. After his two-goal performance in the quarterfinal victory over Missouri Valley on Thursday, Sebastian Jorgge sits second on the active roster with seven goals to his name. Additionally, Jorgge has tallied eight assists, sharing a team-high in the assists category with Jose Sanabria. Sanabria has recorded four goals. As a team, Mobile averages over three goals per match on 19.1 shots per game, and in the net, Ty Turner has picked up 37 saves in 17 starts. His save percentage sits at .673.

Throughout the 2022 season for Lindsey Wilson, Sadam Masereka leads the Blue Raiders with 15 goals scored on 31 shots on frame and Monwasbisi Mngqibisa has notched 12 goals. In the net, Pablo Costa has played 19 of Lindsey Wilson's 23 matches this season, leading the team with 61 saves on a .753 save percentage.
