MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The University of Mobile Women's Indoor Track and Field program swept the SSAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors, with Kari Watts being named SSAC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week and Fedra Florentin being named SSAC Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday, Feb. 22. The awards are based on performance for the week of Feb. 14-20.
Mobile competed in the Carey Indoor Qualifier for the final regular season meet of the season where both Watts and Florentin found success.
Kari Watts (Mobile – JR – Falkville, Ala.)
- Kari Watts won the women's 600m at the Carey Indoor Qualifier.
- She turned in a time of 1:38.39.
Fedra Florentin (Mobile – FR)
- Fedra Florentin won the shot put at the Carey Indoor Qualifier.
- Her mark of 12.99m beat out a field of 12 athletes.
- Florentin is one of five Rams that qualified for the 2022 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championship earlier in the season.
