MOBILE, Ala. - The University of Mobile Women's Basketball team fell to William Carey University on Saturday, Feb. 6 in Pharr Gymnasium after the Rams led for much of the game. However, Mobile struggled in the third quarter which allowed William Carey to take the lead and not look back. The loss drops the Rams' overall record to 12-7 and 6-5 in SSAC action as Mobile and William Carey split the regular season series.
In the defeat, the Rams shot just 33% from the floor, scoring just 11 points in the third quarter. The Crusaders managed to score 21 points in the 10-minute third quarter, leading William Carey to the victory. Mobile did manage to out-rebound the Crusaders 37-33 in the loss as both teams committed 11 turnovers.
Sidney Sims and Breannah McCullah led Mobile with 11 points each. McCullah was one rebound shy of a double-double in the loss, leading the team with nine boards. Sims finished with four rebounds and led Mobile with six assists.
Mobile hits the road to Mount Vernon, Ga. for the next game on the schedule. The Rams battle Brewton-Parker College in a conference game on Feb. 10 at 4:30 p.m. CT.
