HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The University of Mobile Beach Volleyball team fell in two matches played against William Carey University on Saturday, Mar. 19. The Rams fell 4-1 to the Crusaders in match one and followed that with a 3-2 loss to William Carey later in the afternoon hours. Both matches were played at the University of Southern Mississippi Beach Volleyball courts in Hattiesburg, Miss.
Match One Results
Mobile's top-seeded pair of Abby Andrews and Brinkley Hearn managed the Rams' lone win in the first match Saturday morning. Andrews and Hearn won in three sets to begin the match with the scores of 21-17, 13-21, 15-8. Following the win from the first slot in the lineup, Mobile's two through five seeds struggled and were handed losses.
The pairs of Layton Adams / Aspen Adams and Melea Meadows / Veronica Makovey suffered just their fourth losses of the season in match one.
Match Two Results
In match two later on Saturday, William Carey managed a 3-2 win. Layton Adams and Aspen Adams won from the two-seeded slot, while Veronica Makovey and Melea Meadows won as the fifth-seeded pair for Mobile. William Carey managed wins from the first, third, and fourth slots in the match.
The Rams will return home for the next matches on the 2022 schedule and play host to LaGrange College and Loyola University (La.) on Saturday, Mar. 26. Mobile's match against LaGrange is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. CT, while the match v. Loyola is set for 3:00 p.m. CT.
