MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Fedra Florentin of the University of Mobile Women's Outdoor Track and Field program was named SSAC Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday, Apr. 5. The award is based on performance for the week of March 28 – April 3.
For the second time in three weeks, and third time throughout her short collegiate career with Mobile, freshman field thrower Fedra Florentin has earned an SSAC weekly conference honor after being named SSAC Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honor following her performance in this past weekend's Southern Miss Invitational. Florentin earned the same honor just two weeks prior, while also earning a SSAC Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week award back in February. Additionally, Florentin was named SSAC Women's Field Freshman of the Year for indoor track and field this past 2021-22 season.

- Florentin turned in a pair of top-12 finishes at the Southern Miss Invitational, finishing 4th in the shot put (13.06m) and 12th in the discus (35.87m).
- Her shot put mark hit the NAIA 'B' qualifying standard and she previously recorded the fifth-best mark in the NAIA.
Florentin and the Rams will return to action this upcoming weekend as both outdoor track and field teams at the University of Mobile are set to compete in the UAB Invitational / Multi, a three-day meet in Birmingham, Ala. on Apr. 7-9.
