2023 Schedule Officially Released for University of Mobile Men's Soccer Program

UM Men's Soccer Announces 2023 Campaign

MOBILE, Ala. - With the official release of the 2023 schedule on Tuesday, Aug. 1, the University of Mobile Men's Soccer program, led by 10th-year head coach Daniel Whelan, will look to make it three consecutive seasons in playing for a national championship at seasons end.

Overall, Mobile is slated to play 16 regular season matches during the 2023 campaign, with the season kicking off at home against former conference foe Talladega College (Ala.) on Friday, Aug. 18. The season opener is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. CT. Following Mobile's season-opening match with Talladega, the Rams will host a four-team tournament from Aug. 24-26, playing two matches in the process. Non-conference rival Keiser University (Fla.) will face Mobile to open the tournament on Thursday, Aug. 24, while the Rams wrap up tournament play two days later with a match against Southwestern Christian University (Okla.).

One week following Mobile's hosted tournament, the Rams are scheduled for two more non-conference matches ahead of conference play, which is scheduled to start on the road against one of the Southern States Athletic Conference's (SSAC) newest members Point University (Ga.) on Thursday, Sept. 13. Ahead of conference play, however, Mobile will face William Penn University (Io.) on Saturday, Sept. 2 and battle the University of Auburn - Montgomery (Ala.) on Saturday, Sept. 9 in a non-divisional match in Montgomery, Ala.

In conference action, Mobile's home match against the UT-Southern (Tenn.) on Saturday, Sept. 23, the other newest member of the SSAC, highlights the conference portion of the schedule along with a road match against conference rival William Carey University (Miss.) on Saturday, Oct. 21. 10 of Mobile's 16 regular season matches this year are scheduled home matches.

The final site of the SSAC Men's Soccer Championship Tournament is scheduled for Nov. 9-11 this year in Montgomery, Ala., with first round play being awarded to the top four seeds' home turf from Nov. 2-4. Only eight teams will qualify for the postseason conference tournament this season.
