BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. - The University of Mobile Women's Basketball team managed a 71-62 victory over Blue Mountain Christian (Miss.) on Thursday afternoon, Dec. 5, improving to 7-3 overall on the year and 2-2 in SSAC play.
Game Highlights
The lead changed just one time in Thursday's conference battle, with Mobile trailing by just one point at halftime after Blue Mountain outscored the Rams 17-15 in the second quarter. In the second half, Mobile's offense picked up with a 20-point third quarter, while holding the Toppers to just 16 points. In the fourth, Mobile again outscored Blue Mountain, recording a 19-13 edge to eventually claim the nine-point victory.
Mobile finished Thursday with a 41.3% shooting performance from the field, with Alanna Donaldson leading the charge with 21 points and three steals. MacKenzie White and Miriam Oldarcre each notched 15 points, with White adding five assists and five rebounds. Braylee McMath tallied 11 points as Mobile saw four players finish with double-digit point totals.
Defensively, the Rams came away with nine steals and forced 18 turnovers against Blue Mountain, leading to 19 points off giveaways. Meanwhile, Mobile turned the ball over just seven times.
SSAC Action Rolls On
The Rams will be back in action on Saturday, Dec. 7, traveling to Pulaski, Tenn. for a conference matchup against UT-Southern (Tenn.). Saturday's game is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. CT against the Firehawks.
