Women's Soccer Battles to Scoreless Draw on Saturday

Rams See First Tie on 2024 Campaign

PINEVILLE, La. - On a hot Saturday afternoon in central Louisiana, the University of Mobile Women's Soccer team faced off with Louisiana Christian University on Aug. 24 for a non-conference matchup and the second match of the 2024 season. Mobile and Louisiana Christian eventually finished the full 90 minutes with a scoreless tie, moving Mobile's overall record on the year to 1-0-1.

In the draw, the Rams out-shot the Wildcats, 14-8. Seven of the 14 shots for Mobile were on target, but the LCU goalkeeper collected seven saves. Both Raegan Latiolais and Carla Saborido managed two shots-on-goal each on Saturday, with Saborido leading the team with three shots total. On the opposite end, Louisiana Christian only tallied two shots-on-goal as Mobile keeper Ebba Elweroth recorded two saves in the full-match effort. 

Home Matches Upcoming

Mobile is set for the first home matches of the 2024 season following Saturday's tie, coming next weekend at the Jungle. Mobile is scheduled for two matches on Labor Day weekend, facing LSU-Alexandria (La.) on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 5:00 p.m. CT before battling Bethel University (Tenn.) on Monday at 11:00 a.m. CT.
