MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The University of Mobile Women's Basketball team opened 2025 with a strong victory on the road over Faulkner University (Ala.) on Saturday, Jan. 4, extending the current winning streak to seven games after a commanding 93-78 victory over the Eagles.
The win improves Mobile's overall record to 12-3 this season, while improving the conference record to 4-2. The Rams have not lost a game since Nov. 23 versus rival William Carey (Miss.).
Offensive Firepower Leads to Conference Win
Three Rams stood out on Saturday with impressive performances to guide Mobile to the win despite Alanna Donaldson, one of Mobile's leading scorers on the season, being inactive in Saturday's victory. All three players combined for 77 of the team's 93 points.
- Braylee McMath: McMath notched 26 points, displaying her scoring versatility with seven field goals, including two from beyond the arc, and an outstanding 10-of-11 free-throw shooting.
- MacKenzie White: White also tallied 26 points and secured a double-double with 11 rebounds. Her efficient 9-of-16 shooting from the field, including two three-pointers, was instrumental in the win.
- Miriam Oldacre: Oldacre contributed 25 points and showed her accuracy with 10-of-18 shooting, including two three-pointers.
Additionally, the Rams dominated the glass with 44 total rebounds, including 15 offensive boards. This effort created ample second-chance opportunities, converting them into 22 points in the paint. Overall, Mobile shot 47.1% (33-of-70) as a team, while making six threes. The free throw Percentage sat at 75% (21-of-28) on the afternoon, with the Rams racking up 13 assists and seven steals.
Despite an early push from Faulkner, who held a seven-point lead in the first quarter, Mobile's resilience surfaced in the second quarter when the Rams surged ahead, outscoring the Eagles, 22-9. The Rams maintained their momentum throughout the second half, with a dominant 33-point fourth quarter to seal the win.
