VALDOSTA, Ga. - The University of Mobile Men's and Women's Golf team competed in the first tournament of the 2025 calendar year on Feb. 17-18, traveling to Valdosta, Ga. for the annual Kinderlou Forest Spring Invite.
The women's team at Mobile came home with a seventh-place finish out of eight competing teams, while the men's team placed eighth overall out of eight team entrants. Both teams saw round three as the best round of the tournament.
Women's Tourney Highlights
Mobile's women's team managed a team score of 1,041 (+177), using a 344 (+56) at the team's best round. Mobile bested Reinhardt (Ga.) for seventh place overall, while SCAD-Savannah (Ga.) eventually won the tourney.
Individually, Anna King paced the Rams with a 30th-place finish, scoring a +32 in the process. She was followed by Lora Lee Williams in 33rd and Grace Bryant in 36th overall. Williams managed a +36, while Bryant ended her tournament with a +50. Georgia Taylor placed 41st overall with a +59, while Kristen Rachel rounded out Mobile's scorers with a +77 in 45th overall.
Men's Tourney Highlights
For the men's team at Mobile, the Rams scored a 931 (+67) as a team, with round three's score of 300 (+12) ended the tourney on a high note as the best round for Mobile. The Rams finished just four strokes behind seventh-place team Truett McConnell (Ga.), while Point University (Ga.) won the tournament.
First-year Ram Jackson Clemmons managed a top-30 finish, leading the team with a 26th-place finish with a +13. Cooper Douglass, Lane McLaughlin, and Aidan Farmer all finished just outside the top 30, with Dougless finishing 32nd with a +16, McLaughlin placing 34th with a +18, and Farmer tallying a 36th-place finish with a +20. Finally, Brantley Betts placed 42nd overall with a +37.
Ram Invite Ahead
Both teams at Mobile are set to return to a familiar course for the next tournament on the schedule, hosting the annual Ram Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 24-25 at the RTJ Magnolia Grove Golf Course in Mobile, Ala. Magnolia Grove is where the Rams practice for much of the season.
