MONTGOMERY, Ala. - After beginning the 2025 season with a 4-0 start two weekends ago, the University of Mobile Beach Volleyball team returned to the courts on Saturday. Feb. 22, battling two non-conference opponents in Montgomery, Ala.
Mobile opened the day with a 5-0 shutout over East Texas Baptist University, dropping just one set to the Tigers, while later dominating NCAA D-I's Nicholls State (La.) 5-0, winning each set played. Mobile improves to 6-0 to begin the 2025 campaign.

Against East Texas Baptist, Mobile's top seed of Aspen Adams and Layton Adams managed a 22-20, 21-17 victory from flight one, while Dazsha Dean Middleton and Lexi Gillette won from the second-seeded match, 21-16, 21-10. The third flight was the lone match between Mobile and East Texas Baptist to finish in three sets, with Emma Hampton and Gabby Sheffield securing a 21-9, 20-22, 15-5 win.
In the bottom two flights, Emily Osborne and Emma Todd cruised to a 21-13, 21-10 victory, while Jaci Drinnon and Rachel Dunaway dominated 21-8, 21-7 in the fifth-seeded match, finishing in just 20 minutes.Â
Later against Nicholls, Drinnon and Dunaway secured a forfeit victory, while Mobile's top pair of Aspen Adams and Layton Adams secured a 21-11, 21-15 win. Dean Middleton and Gillette also came up with a strong win, claiming a 21-9, 21-15 win, while Emily Osborne and Emma Todd ended the day with a 21-13, 21-9 victory. Emma Hampton and Gabby Sheffield saw their match end early due to injury for Nicholls, with the duo earning a 21-12, 11-2 win.

Mobile is set for the first home match of the 2025 season next on the schedule, coming against Huntingdon College (Ala.) on Wednesday, Feb. 26. Wednesday's match is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m. CT and will be played at the UM Sand Volleyball courts.
