Beach Volleyball Suffers First Defeat of the Season

Rams Fall to Spring Hill College; 10 Game Win Streak Snapped

SPRING HILL COLLEGE | MOBILE, Ala. - The University of Mobile beach volleyball team was riding a 10-game winning streak heading into Tuesday's match against the Badgers of Spring Hill College. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end as Mobile would fall 1-4 against their crosstown rivals.

The Match

The match marked Mobile's first loss of the season, having been 10-0 heading into the meeting. Mobile however is still undefeated when facing NAIA opponents this season with a record of 6-0. Mobile's lone victory in the loss came from the fifth flight pairing of Rachel Dunaway and Jaci Drinnon who won 21-19, 21-17. The top flight pairing of Layton Adams and Aspen Adams returned to the court after missing the matches this past weekend, but were beaten 19-21, 18-21. Emma Hampton and Gabby Sheffield almost went to three sets in the third flight match but ultimately fell 13-21, 21-23.

Up Next for the Rams

Mobile is set to return to SUN Conference action on March 14th-15th in Babson Park, Florida where they will face #6 Webber International University, Warner University and New College of Florida.
