Baseball Sweeps Home Doubleheader Against Talladega

Rams Get Revenge for Doubleheader Loss Earlier this Season Against the Tornadoes

JACOBS FIELD - MOBILE, Ala. - The University of Mobile Baseball team hosted Talladega College in a doubleheader contest on March 4th at Jacobs Field, winning both games to avenge a doubleheader loss to the Tornadoes earlier this season in Talladega. Both games in the non-conference matchup were seven innings.

Game One - Mobile 3, Talladega 2

Mobile took the lead in the bottom of the first inning when Zion Taylor was able to run home courtesy of an error by the Tornadoes short stop. Talladega would fight back and take a 2-1 lead over the Rams in the top of the fifth inning with a bases loaded walk. It wouldn't be long before the Rams would storm back however, as in the bottom of the fifth, Sam Bowman doubled to center field, bringing home Zion Taylor, and Bryce Eddington hit a single to score Bowman. Mobile would go on to hold their 3-2 lead over the Tornadoes to close out game one.

Game Two - Mobile 9, Talladega 2


Mobile would repeat itself again and take the lead in the bottom of the first inning, but this time around, they would never find themselves trailing to the Tornadoes. Fifth year pitcher Landon Moore started for Mobile in game two, completing five innings before being replaced by Peyton Bell would would close out the game for the Rams. Mobile had a strong sixth inning which solidified their lead over the tornadoes as they brought in 6 runs. Cameron Brock doubled to right center bringing home two runners with Sam Bowman smashing a home run over the scoreboard at Jacobs Field to bring in the 8th and 9th runs of the evening.

Up Next For the Rams

For the Mobile Baseball team, they will continue their home stretch with a series against conference opponents Brewton-Parker College on March 6-7 at Jacobs Field. The Rams are scheduled to play one game on Thursday, March 6th at 3:00pm CT and a doubleheader on Friday, March 7th at 1:00pm CT.
