JACOBS FIELD | MOBILE, Ala. - The University of Mobile Baseball program rounded out their conference series against Brewton-Parker on Friday, March 7th, with two big wins, completing the sweep over the Barons. The Rams were seeing the ball well all day and the opposition defense was helpless to do anything about it. For Mobile, this series win pushes their record in conference play to 5-4 and their overall record to 15-10.
Game One - Mobile 12, Brewton-Parker 3
Mobile opened up the scoring in the second inning and poured in 8 runs to take a sizable advantage early on. Colton Wood hit a 2 RBI single before being brought home himself off of a Peyton Bell single down the right field line. Sam Bowman would have the biggest contribution to Mobile's scoring with his 3 RBI homerun to cap off the second inning. Second Baseman Cameron Brock also had a productive outing in game one, recording 3 hits, 3 RBIs and a run. Pitcher Trey Watson would go six innings for the Rams and earn the win from the mound.
Game Two - Mobile 13, Brewton-Parker 3
The Rams showed no signs of fatigue in game two as they end the scheduled nine inning game with a run rule victory after getting 3 outs in the top of the seventh. Mobile would record at least 2 runs in each of the first four innings, pushing 7 across in the third. They were led by Sam Bowman who put on another show in game two, bettering his numbers from game one with 3 hits, 6 RBIs, and 2 runs. Bryce Eddington also had a great game with 4 hits, 3 RBIs and a run. Despite an initially shaky start, pitcher Andin Bolen pitched 5 innings and earned the win for Mobile, striking out 4 batters in the process.
Up Next for the Rams
Mobile will play their next game on Tuesday, March 11th, at 2:00pm CT at Mike Jacobs Field in Mobile, Alabama against Tuskegee University. In that game they'll look to extend their winning streak to 6 games and build some more momentum before preparing to face the #11 Wolfpack of Loyola University (La.) in a weekend series on March 14-15.
