SSAC Volleyball Players To Watch

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Below are the Southern States Athletic Conference Players to Watch for the 2025 volleyball season. 
 
Each team selected one newcomer and one returner to feature. The regular season begins this weekend, with the SSAC Championship set for Nov. 13-15 in Montgomery, Ala.
 
Blue Mountain Christian

Returner: Kora Wilson
SR, Libero 

-Kora has a stellar work ethic and will run through a wall for her team
-She is a great teammate, always makes sure everyone is included  
-Her IQ on the court is paramount to the team's success

Newcomer: Reanna Brown
SR, Setter, Bethel University (IND) 

-Reanna brings the energy to any team she is a part of 
-She is a natural leader on and off the court 
-She is always looking to improve her game and is hungry to win

Returner: Raphaela Felisberto
SR, Setter, Belo Horizonte- Mina Gerais, Brazil

-Felisberto was an instrumental component of the Barons' offense last season. As the setter in the 5-1 offense
-Rapha is the captain of the team and a key vocal leader both last season and this off-season, holding her teammates to the team's standard
-Rapha led the team in assists with 486 and 40 aces on the year, leading the Barons in both categories

Newcomer: Taylor Lamontagne
SO, Setter, Warner Robins, Ga., West Alabama

-Lamontagne is one of the Coaching staff's building blocks for the future
-Bringing in a high level of competition and skill transferring from the Division II level
-The coaching staff is excited about the ability to bring in an offensive weapon like Lamontagne to the program

SR, Setter

-Earned 2024 Second Team All-SSAC honors
-Put up 536 assists, 229 digs and 28 aces in 115 sets and 30 matches played in 2024
-Career totals of 1629 assists (11th most in program history), 688 digs and 72 aces in 345 sets and 98 matches played
-Earned 1500th career assist at home vs. Pensacola Christian

Newcomer: Kaleigh Moss
FR, Outside Hitter, Baker HS (Fla.)

-Helped lead her team at Baker to four district titles in as many seasons, three Class 1A state semifinal berths and the 2023 Class 1A state championship
-Through 289 total sets played, she tallied 812 kills, 457 digs, 522 aces, 77 assists and 68 total blocks

Returner: Lela Parker
RS SO, Middle Blocker

-Lela Parker is a redshirt sophomore middle blocker whose stature and physicality consistently present problems for our opponents
-She finished 3rd in blocks per set in the SSAC during the 2023 season and led all freshmen in that category
-She was named the SSAC Freshman of the Year in the 2023 season, and we're expecting her impact to be even greater this year

Newcomer: Katrin Hardardottir
JR, RS Hitter, New Mexico Junior College

-Katrin Hardardottir is a junior right side hitter who transferred in from New Mexico Junior College, with international play experience under her belt
-She's a versatile player who can comfortably play all three front row positions, making her a threat to attack from anywhere on the court. Her athleticism, speed, and attacking IQ will elevate us

Alexa Palmer
JR, RS Hitter

-After earning second-team all-conference honors her freshman year, her sophomore year was hampered by an injury.
-Still, though, Alexa had a better kill-per-set average than during her freshman year and is primed to be one of Loyola's strongest attackers in 2025

Newcomer: Tyler Alcorn
SR, Middle Blocker, Lafayette, La.

-A transfer from Loyola Marymount University and the University of Oklahoma, Tyler is determined to make a strong return after an ACL injury sidelined her last preseason.
-Now in her second year of law school, she's ready to make the most of her final year of eligibility and leave it all on the court

SO, Outside Hitter

-Peyton played in 16 sets across 10 games during her freshman year managing 10 kills on 17 attempts
-This year will likely see her finding more play time following the graduation of several starters from last year's side

Newcomer: Hope Blaylock
FR, Defensive Specialist, UMS-Wright Preparatory School

-Hope was a state champion with the UMS-Wright Volleyball team during the 2024 season
-She will be looking to continue that success as she begins her time at Mobile

-First-Team All-Conference selection in 2024
-Attacked at a .275 clip and averaged 1.78 kills and 1.08 blocks per set

FR, Setter, Flowery Branch, Ga.
 
-Spent time at setter and right side

JR, Outside Hitter

-Made 22 appearances for the Firehawks last season
-Accumulated 131 kills, 46 digs, and 23 blocks

-Made five appearances for the Orediggers last season
-Accumulated two kills, a dig, and a block
