UM Indoor Track & Field Competes In Last Chance; Chelsea Kendall Qualifies For Nationals

Chelsea Kendall (SR/Huntsville, Ala.) Qualifies For Nationals At Last Chance Event In Hattiesburg, Miss.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - In the final opportunity to qualify for NAIA Nationals in Brookings, South Dakota, the University of Mobile Men and Women's Indoor Track and Field teams competed at the Last Chance event in Hattiesburg on Saturday, Feb. 22. In the event, five different NAIA schools competed, including conference rivals Bethel University and William Carey University.

Mobile has already seen Angel Peterson (JR/Saraland, Ala.) qualify for nationals back on Jan. 10 in the Gulf Shores Indoor/Outdoor Challenge. Peterson broke the school record in the high jump by clearing 1.70m (5ft 7in). That mark was good enough to book her trip to Brookings on March 5.

On Saturday, Mobile's Chelsea Kendall competed in the long jump and cleared 5.65, allowing her to join her teammate Peterson at NAIA Nationals in Brookings, South Dakota. Kendall finished second overall in the long jump event.

The NAIA National Indoor Championship in Brookings, South Dakota will be a three day event starting on March 5 and last through March 7.
