Box Score THOMASVILLE, Ga. - After falling to Thomas University, 3-1 in the Sun Conference / SSAC Challenge on Friday, Sept. 17, the University of Mobile Women's Soccer team fell to SCAD Savannah on Saturday, Sept. 18, 8-1. It's the second time this season where the Rams have allowed at least eight opponent goals in a match, the first coming in just the second match of the season against Southeastern University on Aug. 21 where they lost, 9-0.
Mobile's lone goal on Saturday came in the sixth minute of the match off a shot from Sophie Walsh. For Walsh, it was her first goal of the 2021 season. Walsh's early goal evened the match, 1-1. From there, the SCAD Bees managed to score seven more goals, four in the first half and three in the second half.
The 2021 season continues to be a struggle for Mobile as the Rams are still in search for their first win of the year. Saturday's loss drops Mobile's record to 0-7-1 with conference play on the horizon.
Mobile will open up SSAC play in their next scheduled match against Dalton State College on Thursday, Sept. 30 in Dalton, Ga. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. CT.
