MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The University of Mobile Softball program took the top spot in the 2023 SSAC Softball Coaches' Preseason Poll, announced on Wednesday, Oct. 26.
Coming off a season where the Rams finished as the runner-up in the 2022 NAIA Softball National Championship game, Mobile finished the season with a stellar 52-4 overall record while winning the SSAC Softball Championship, their second under head coach Alison Sellers-Cook. Mobile finished 24-2 in conference action and saw Sellers-Cook earn her second SSAC Softball Coach of the Year Award.
During Mobile's 52-4 season, the Rams broke the program record 28-game consecutive win streak set by the 1997 team, recording a new record of 34-straight victories. Seven Rams earned SSAC First-Team All-Conference honors, while five were SSAC Second-Team All-Conference selections following the regular season. Additionally, Mobile saw four student-athletes be named NAIA Softball All-Americans following postseason play. Three of the four NAIA All-American selections return to the program ahead of the 2023 season.

We are eager to come back stronger this season and continue the success that we saw during the 2022 season. The team has been very focused with high expectations that they have put on themselves."

SSAC Softball Basics
- Mobile won the 2022 SSAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships and was runner-up at the NAIA Softball World Series.
- The Rams return First-Team All-Americans Emily Butts and Brinkley Goff, along with NAIA Honorable Mention All-American Caitlin McRee.
- William Carey returns NAIA First-Team All-American Haley Nations and SSAC All-Conference selection Brooke Tanner.
- The Knights of Middle Georgia State are led by SSAC All-Conference returners Emma Raulerson and Logan Blizzard.
