MOBILE, Ala. - The University of Mobile Athletic Department and head softball coach Alison Sellers-Cook officially announced that Tuesday afternoon's doubleheader versus Georgia Gwinnett College has been postponed due to inclement weather.
No. 8 Mobile was originally scheduled to host No. 14 Georgia Gwinnett for two non-conference games at the UM Softball Field on Tuesday afternoon. However, severe weather with a chance of tornadoes is forecasted for the Mobile, Ala. area on Tuesday, Mar. 22, forcing Sellers-Cook to make the call to postpone the games. Instead, Mobile and Georgia Gwinnett will play on April 5, 2022 at the UM Softball Field with a doubleheader scheduled for 2:00 p.m. CT. The Rams swept Georgia Gwinnett earlier in the season in Lawrenceville, Ga. on Feb. 19.
Mobile is currently 26-0 on the season, putting them two wins shy of the all-time program record for wins in a row (28 - 97' team). Mobile is scheduled to face two conference opponents at the UM Softball Field on Friday and Saturday, Mar. 25-26 for two doubleheaders. The Rams will battle Faulkner University at 3:00 p.m. CT on Friday and Talladega College the following day at 12:00 p.m. CT.
