MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) officially named the upcoming weekend doubleheader on Friday, Mar. 25 featuring the sixth-ranked University of Mobile Softball program and the Faulkner University Softball program as the SSAC Series of the Week, presented by Herff Jones.
The doubleheader between Mobile and Faulkner on Friday is the first of two meetings between the two teams this season, with the second meeting coming on Apr. 15, 2022 in Montgomery, Ala. This Friday's meeting is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. CT at the UM Softball Field. Both games will be broadcasted live at https://team1sports.com/umobilerams/.
SSAC Softball Series of the Week: RV Faulkner at #6 Mobile | Fri at 3 pm (DH) | UM Softball Field - Mobile, Ala.
- The Rams are 26-0 on the year and 8-0 in SSAC play, while Faulkner is 15-5 overall and 5-1 in conference action. Mobile is two games shy of a program-record 28-game winning streak.
- Both teams are receiving votes in the latest NAIA Softball Coaches' Top 25 Poll released on Wednesday, with the Rams being ranked No. 6 overall and Faulkner sitting just outside the top 25 by receiving votes for entry. Mobile is the only team undefeated in the current rankings.
- For Mobile, Jaden Morace is hitting .449 with 21 RBIs and 12 XBH, while Kristen Black is hitting a team-best .476 with a .500 OBP. Kaylee Pullin leads all Rams in the power category, with four home runs and 35 RBI.
- In the pitcher's circle, Emily Butts is 12-0 for Mobile with a 0.96 ERA in 80.1 innings as Mobile as a team sits with a 1.24 team ERA.
- For Faulkner, Erika Mitchell is hitting .469 with seven doubles, while Tara Ammons is hitting .426 with 21 RBIs.
- In the circle, Meagan Schwieterman is 7-1 for the Eagles with 43 K's and a 1.13 ERA in 49.2 innings.
