Rams and Crusaders Set for Battle in Hattiesburg on Friday

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) officially named the upcoming weekend doubleheader on Friday, Apr. 1 featuring the sixth-ranked University of Mobile Softball program and the seventh-ranked William Carey Crusaders as the SSAC Softball Series of the Week, presented by Herff Jones.

The doubleheader between Mobile and William Carey on Friday will be played in Hattiesburg, Miss. and is the first of two meetings between the two teams this season. The second meeting is slated for Tuesday, Apr. 19 at the UM Softball Field in Mobile, Ala. This Friday's meeting in Hattiesburg is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. CT and will be aired live at https://team1sports.com/careyathletics/.


SSAC Softball Series of the Week: #6 Mobile at #7 William Carey | Fri at 4 pm (DH) | Hattiesburg, Miss.
  • Both teams are tied atop the SSAC standings with 12-0 conference records.
  • Mobile is 30-0 overall, setting a new school record for consecutive wins.
  • William Carey is 32-3, dropping three non-conference games earlier in the season.
  • For Mobile, Kaylee Pullin is hitting .366 with a conference-high 41 RBIs and 11 XBH, while Jaden Morace is hitting .423 with 25 RBIs, 13 XBH and 40 runs scored. In the circle, Emily Butts is 14-0 with a 0.91 ERA in 92.1 innings.
  • For WCU, Carley Kidder is hitting .393 with 34 RBIs and 14 doubles, while Brooke Tanner is batting .387 with 38 runs scored. In the circle, Haley Nations is 15-2 with 136 K's and a 0.93 ERA in 105.2 innings.
