MOBILE, Ala. - The University of Mobile Athletic Department and head baseball coach Jon Seymour officially announced schedule and time changes to the weekend schedule for the upcoming conference series against Faulkner University at Jacobs Field due to inclement weather. That schedule change was made official on Wednesday, Mar. 9.
Originally, the UM Baseball team was set to host the first conference series of the season at Jacobs Field on Friday and Saturday, Mar. 11-12 with the first game of the series being on Friday night and a doubleheader to follow on Saturday. However, weather forecasted for the weekend in the Mobile, Ala. area forced Seymour to make the call to change the series schedule and times.
The updated schedule will now see the series begin with a doubleheader at Jacobs Field on Friday afternoon, Mar. 11 at 1:00 p.m. CT. Game two of the doubleheader will begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. Saturday, Mar. 12 will see the series finale start at 2:00 p.m. CT. Currently, Friday's doubleheader will be broadcasted live at https://team1sports.com/umobilerams/ while Saturday's series-finale broadcast is still TBD due to schedule conflicts with other University of Mobile teams that are scheduled to host home games.
Mobile will enter the first conference series at home with a 10-7 overall record and 1-2 conference record. Faulkner enters this weekend sitting just outside the NAIA Baseball Top 25 by receiving votes and currently has a 8-9 overall record while sitting 2-1 in SSAC action. This season, the Rams are 7-3 at home while the Eagles of Faulkner are 0-3 away from their home turf.
