No. 1 Mobile Earns No. 1 Seed in Upcoming SSAC Softball Championship Tournament

Seeds Set for 2022 SSAC Softball Championship

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The final weekend of the SSAC softball regular season action saw the top-ranked University of Mobile Softball team lock up the 2022 SSAC Softball Regular Season Championship, while earning the top seed of the upcoming conference tournament, and the remaining seeds mostly fall into place for the 2022 SSAC Softball Championship, presented by Buffalo Wild Wings, April 28-30 in Decatur, Ala. The double-elimination tournament will take place at Wilson Morgan Softball Complex with tickets only being sold at https://ssacsports.com/sports/2021/6/16/13745_132683264575143365.aspx.

The Rams secured the top spot in the standings with a doubleheader sweep over Stillman College on Saturday, Apr. 23, finishing two games ahead of the second-seeded William Carey. Both Mobile and William Carey rank within the latest NAIA Softball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, with Mobile sitting at No. 1 in the country and the Crusaders at No. 6.

For Mobile, they will face the eighth-seeded Stillman Tigers on Thursday, Apr. 28 at 10:00 a.m. CT to open up the tournament.

*William Carey and Talladega will play a doubleheader this Tuesday. If Talladega drops both and ends up tied at 7-21 with Blue Mountain, the Toppers would own the head-to-head tiebreaker and the teams would switch spots in the standings.
