TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The University of Mobile Men's Bowling team returned to action for the first time during the 2023 calendar year, competing in the FSU Seminole Classic on Saturday, Feb. 4 in Tallahassee, Fla.. The weekend tournament was hosted by Florida State University and wraps up the 2022-23 regular season for the UM Men's Bowling team as the Rams are set to compete in the program's first postseason later this month.
In the FSU Seminole Classic, Mobile placed seventh out of seven competing teams, tallying 5,431 pins across seven games played. Mobile's best game came in game five where the Rams knocked down 815 total pins. The Rams finished one spot behind conference foe Blue Mountain Christian University in the tournament and three spots behind crosstown rival Spring Hill College. Additionally, three of the seven competing teams came from the NCAA Division I, with those being host-school Florida State, South Florida, and Central Florida.
Individually, Luke Owers led Mobile with a 29th-place finish, averaging 170.29 pins per game. Owers totaled 1,192 pins through all seven games bowled, with his game-high coming in game five with 194 pins.
