SAVANNAH, Ga. – The University of Mobile Men's Bowling team put together an impressive run at the 2024-25 SSAC Men's Bowling Championship over the weekend, advancing to the semifinals of the tournament before seeing the season come to an end. The Rams secured a win over Blue Mountain Christian (Miss.) to begin postseason action on day one, while later falling to eventual conference champion SCAD-Savannah (Ga.) that afternoon. Mobile eventually lost to Milligan (Tenn.) in the semis after the Rams upset SCAD-Atlanta (Ga.) in round four.

Match Scores
The fourth-seeded Rams of Mobile defeated Blue Mountain 2-0 in the first matchup on the weekend, winning the team game 826-735. Samuel Dippel bowled a 183 in the game. The Rams then took the baker games 700-591 to secure the 2-0 shutout.
Later that day, SCAD-Savannah took down Mobile 2-1, with the Bees winning the team games 1,071 – 801. Mobile then bounced back to take the four baker games 801-779 to force a best of five baker games, putting the Bees on upset alert. However, SCAD-Savannah won 3-0 in the tiebreaker.
On day two, Mobile eliminated Stillman 4-2. The Rams had highs of 202 and 190 in the best of seven baker games. Mobile then battled SCAD-Atlanta in the fourth round, with the Rams jumping out to a 3-1 lead. Mobile eventually claimed the final game 157-144 to grab the upset victory and advance to the semifinals. In the semifinal matchup with Milligan, the Buffaloes won the best-of-seven baker games, bouncing back after dropping the first one, and bowling 216 or better in each of the next four.
Tournament Format
Winners' Bracket: Consists of mini mega matches: One traditional team game followed by four baker games total (two on first lane, two on opposite lane). If overall score is 1-1, a best of five baker match will be played.
Losers' Bracket: Best of seven baker match play. If there are BYES required for higher-seeded teams due to uneven number of teams for bracket play, practice lanes will be available as needed, but no practice after the last ball is thrown in the 10th for one team.
